Mily Cooper Photography
Los Angeles Best Maternity, Newborn, Children & Family Photographer - since 2013
What are your studio policies?
I would like to share the current steps I am taking to ensure the Mily Cooper Photography studio environment remains safe and clean for your photo session. I will be updating this as required and following the state of California guidelines closely.
-
No shoes are allowed in the studio. You'll be required to leave them by the door.
-
Deep cleaning of the studio and bathroom, including props and common surfaces before and after every session.
-
Wash or sanitize hands when arriving at the studio and have clients do the same.
-
Please arrive in a face mask or any face covering material.
-
Limit the number of people in the studio to those being photographed according to the package selected - immediate family members at this time (mom, dad, siblings and newborn)
-
Maintain 6 feet distance. If such distancing is not feasible, other measures such as face covering, hand hygiene, cough etiquette, cleanliness, and sanitation will be rigorously practiced.
Please cancel your appointment within 24 hours if you are experiencing any of these symptoms:
Fever, headache, cough, dizziness, lack of taste/smell, fatigue (not from lack of sleep).
Please be sure to pack water & snacks as your session may take up to 3 hours and I am not allowed to provide beverages or food.
If you have any concerns or would like to chat further about booking a session or attending your photo shoot, please email me at milycooper.photography@yahoo.com
How do I book a photo session?
Please contact me at 310.916.7145 or e-mail me at
milycooper.photography@yahoo.com.
I will get back to you within 48 hours.
Newborn sessions should be scheduled 3-6 months in advance. However if you decide at the last minute to do a newborn session, I always recommend to call because I often times have last minute openings due to babies arriving earlier or later than expected.
A signed contract and deposit fee is required to guarantee your rate, session date
and time. The remaining amount for the session should be paid on the session date.
Can I reschedule my session?
Yes, but rescheduling requires 48 hrs. notice.
If you cancel at the last minute or do not show up, you will lose your deposit fee.
What if I am late for my photo shoot?
Starting your session on time is extremely important as I try to set up sessions during optimal light conditions and you may miss those.
Please plan to arrive 10 min before your session starts.
If you arrive late, I may be able to extend our session in some cases, but in others, I may have another session right after, hence your session will run short.
What should I do to prepare for my maternity photo session?
Here is some information that will be super useful as you go through the process. I provide gowns and accessories for my pregnant moms, so no need to stress ! Here is a link to my wardrobe
What should I do to prepare for my baby's newborn photo session?
Here is some information that will be super useful as you go through the process.
How long does a newborn session take?
Full posed newborn sessions take about 2 - 3 hours, this includes extra time in case we need extra feeding and soothing breaks. Sessions that include siblings take approximately 3 hours.
Do you do Newborn in-home sessions?
I do not offer posed newborn sessions at the moment, only lifestyle newborn sessions.
When is the best time to photograph my newborn baby?
I prefer to photograph newborns between 5-12 new days when they are still in that super sleepy, squishy, curly stage. It's also best to do the session before the baby acne sets in (3rd week, generally). This is not to say we can't photograph your baby a bit older, but the ultimate time is during the magical week.

Do you have Gift Certificates?
Yes, I do. They can be purchased in any amount and they are valid towards photo sessions and products. They are wonderful gifts for pretty much anyone.
If you have a company and would like to give your employees gift certificates on a special occasion or milestone, contact me, I have corporate discounts. Purchase them here
How do I select my digital negatives and prints?
Approximately 2 weeks after your photo session, you will receive a link to a private photo gallery to view your digital images.
- You will be able to make your selections there.
- If you make a print order, I will review each item to ensure the dimensions requested for printed images are appropriate and will reconfirm your order.
- Payment is due upon confirmation.
- Products will be available for pick up in approximately 2-4 weeks.
Can I get all the pictures taken during the session in a cd, without being edited?
No. As an artist, I take pride in my final product.
After the session, I will review all pictures and select those that I feel truly reflect my subjects and of course my work standards.
I will do minor editing on those and upload them into your private gallery for your review.
You will be able to chose the number of digital images included in your package and they will go through further artistic editing.
If you wish to obtain more images than those available in your package , they are available at an additional cost. See prices here
Can I share my pictures in Facebook or other websites?
You are welcome (and encouraged!) to share your pictures, use them as your profile picture and tag yourself or others, but proper recognition of Mily Cooper Photography is appreciated and requested when publishing photos and using them online (example-like when putting them on Facebook).
Please do not modify in any way pictures taken by me or crop my logo.
Photos may not be entered into any contest without my prior consent and without proper credit to Mily Cooper Photography.
Professional Printing vs. Printing at your local Costco /Walgreens, etc.
I can only guarantee the photo quality of photos purchased directly through me and my lab.
The materials we use are of archival quality (high durability and acid free)
In my personal experience, non-professional / mass produced prints do not reflect the colors of the original picture either.
If you plan to display your pictures at your home, give them as gifts, or use them for your professional modeling portfolios, I highly recommend investing in professional printing.
What is a print release?
- A print release authorizes the customer to make prints of the digital negatives included in a session or sold individually. Original copyright remains with the photographer.
- Your license does not include use that results in financial gain, including but not limited to: advertising, stock photography, print sale profits, or resale of any nature.
- The photos may be printed but not altered or edited in any way other than by the photographer and alterations is a violation of the copyright.
- The photographer reserves the right to use and publish images and photographs taken at your photography session to further promote its service, including portfolio, web site, display, advertisement, and editorial use. My rights as photographer do not include publishing the identity of the subjects that appear on my pictures.
What products do you offer and what are your prices?
I offer Fine Art Prints, Gallery Canvas, Boarded Mounted Prints, Heirloom Albums, Collages, etc. Here is my complete price list.
